With the 2024 election a little more than a month away, the Minnesota AFL-CIO is releasing its 2024 Legislative Report to help union members and any other voters who support working people have more information when they make their choice for State Representative at the polls.
“Lots of candidates talk a good game when it comes to supporting working Minnesotans, but what a candidate does is far more important than what they say,” said Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bernie Burnham. “Both our 2023 and 2024 Legislative Reports give union members a detailed look at which legislators running for reelection truly support working people and our unions.”
The report scores key votes on wages, worker safety, healthcare, state & local government investments, schools, jobs, and more. Each legislator receives a score for the session based on the percentage of times they voted with working people, which is added to their lifetime score. The annual legislative report is one of many tools the Minnesota AFL-CIO and Area Labor Councils consider when considering electoral endorsements.
Following the 2024 session, 48 House Members and 10 Senators maintained 100% lifetime Labor voting scores.
